Circularity

Our circular economy principles aim to reduce waste and conserve resources by creating closed-loop systems
where materials are kept in use for as long as possible.

Continue designing products with recyclable materials and be easy to disassemble for reuse of parts.

Implementing take-back programs with an option to return used products for recycling or refurbishment

Using recycled materials in the production of new products, reducing the need for virgin materials

Partnering with suppliers to ensure that components used in our products are sourced sustainably

Recycled Content

By utilising materials such as recycled glass, aluminium, plastic, brass, and copper, we are able to reduce our reliance on virgin materials and decrease our carbon footprint. Our use of recycled materials in the manufacturing of our lighting products is part of our ongoing efforts to promote a more sustainable future.

Future Bio Plastics

Orlight is currently in the process of reviewing the addition of bio-plastics into our products and packaging.

PLA is classified as a 100% biosourced plastic: it's made of renewable resources such as corn or sugar cane. Lactic acid, obtained by fermenting sugar or starch, is then transformed into a monomer called lactide. This lactide is then polymerised to produce PLA.

Repurposing
Case Studies

These case studies demonstrate how Orlight is committed to providing excellent service and meeting our clients' needs through product repurposing. We take pride in our ability to adapt our products to meet our clients' changing needs and look forward to continuing to provide innovative solutions in the future.

In 2021, a request was made to modify the color of fittings previously supplied. We responded by retrieving the products, changing their color from white to black, and returning them to the site. This successful repurposing project met the specified requirements and highlighted our ability to adapt to custom specifications with flexibility and precision, resulting in a highly positive outcome.

After two years of product installation, a request was made for servicing and replacement of certain components. We promptly retrieved the fittings, carried out the necessary updates, and restored their functionality within a three-week timeframe. This successful refurbishment project not only revitalised the products but also demonstrated our commitment to supporting long-term needs and delivering effective, timely solutions.

A client who had a competitor's product installed contacted us to service and rework the product to meet their needs. We agreed to bring back the competitor's product, serviced it, changed the internal components, resprayed it, and extended the ceiling rods. We then sent it back to the client, who was extremely happy with the end result.
